This is the second coin from Australian Bush Babies, a beautiful new series that made an enormous impact with the first release portraying a cute and cuddly kangaroo ‘joey’.
Proof Quality 99.9% Pure Silver
The coin is struck from 1/2oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality with a large 36mm diameter.
Infant Sugar Glider Reverse
In her second outstanding design for the series, Elise Martinson portrays a beautiful little sugar glider with its eyes bright and alert. Sugar gliders are tiny tree-dwelling Australian marsupials that can glide through the air for up to 100 metres. At night, they come out to feed on insects and the sugary sap of eucalyptus and acacia. The gorgeous animal is perched on a frosted interpretation of native flowers and accompanied by its insect ‘friend’.
‘P’ Mintmark
The coin’s reverse also includes The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
Australian Legal Tender
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin portrays the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse.
Limited Mintage
No more than 10,000 of these 2010-dated coins will be released by The Perth Mint.
Numbered Certificate of Authenticity
Each coin is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
