What is Moldavite
Moldavite is a rare and striking green gemstone, technically a form of natural glass. It was created around 15 million years ago when a powerful meteorite impact struck the region that is now the Czech Republic. The immense heat and pressure from this collision fused material from the meteorite with the surrounding terrestrial rock, producing a translucent tektite that ranges in colour from olive to deep forest green.
