The reverse design depicts a charming image of an adult koala and juvenile resting in the fork of a eucalyptus tree and incorporates The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark
The coin’s obverse bears the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on its obverse, and the monetary denomination.

The coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.
