Widows Mite coin is the worlds most famous ancient coin
Mentioned in the Bible and in the times when Jesus walked on earth
Mark 12:41-44
Widow Mites were used in the holy land at around the time Jesus.
These coins were called lepton and two were worth same as lowest coinage or the Roman occupiers.
Around 103BC to 76AD
This coin was made in Bronze and shows kings name and anchor and on reverse 8-rayed star.
Many Judeans buried these coins for safe keeping but many were lost when they were killed and many were melted down to make other coins as bronze was a scarce commodity in the ancient times.
